It is in the town of Annemasse (74) that the 2021 French veterans badminton championships took place.
For the proper functioning of the competition, from November 12 to 14, four sites hosted the 740 players divided into eight categories. Golfech’s Fools of the Wheel were represented by Sébastien Carrié and Phuc Van Quang.
The latter, a regular at these events, returned with two French championship titles in the V8 category (over 70 years old). First of all, in men’s doubles, associated with Alain Sistac, from the Cornebarrieu club; then, in mixed doubles, associated with Liliane Lefort, from the Noisel club. In singles, he finished third, securing a third podium.
Sébastien, meanwhile, failed in the round of 16, in the V4 category.
The two friends took great pleasure in these championships, but above all represented their town and their region brilliantly.
