From today applies to the kickers in the lower house 2G

Most of the amateur leagues already ended the autumn season last weekend, but a full round still has to be played in the Upper Austrian league. In addition, supplementary games will be played from the regional league up to the 2nd class.

An OÖN broadcast to the lower house clubs concerned showed that everyone wants to bring the missing games to the stage – that only vaccinated or recovered players may be used, but the worry lines of one or the other club are growing. “It could be tight in terms of the squad,” says Steyregg’s sports director Mario Wurm (1st class middle). “It is a certain distortion of competition, especially since at the beginning of the season we of course didn’t put together the squad based on who was vaccinated,” says St. Mariens section head Markus Kessler, whose club has two more games to play in the first class East.

“Want to make it through”

Despite the difficulties, Johannes Oberndorfer, head of the Weibern section, has one goal: “We want to get it through.”

The Upper Austrian Football Association is also waiting for the new ordinance. “We first need the official confirmation that 2G also applies in the lower house,” says director Raphael Koch. This is a formal act. The 3G rule only remains in place in the professional leagues (professional practice) and in school soccer.
