Football – Copa Libertadores: Brazilian Deyverson offers victory to Palmeiras and entertains the gallery

Deyverson probably had a very good Saturday night. Providential scorer for Palmeiras to bring back to his club the 62nd Copa Libertadores against Flamengo (2-1), the Brazilian striker turned into an actor at the very end of extra time to amuse the gallery. With the clock ticking just over 122 minutes and he had just suffered a foul in midfield, Deyverson faked an injury after the referee touched him lightly on the back, resulting in to make his teammates laugh a lot just before they can exult.

Entered during the game, the 30-year-old striker made a point of honor to mark this final with his talent by offering victory to Palmeiras at the end of a completely crazy scenario. With this double, the Alviverde achieved a feat that had not been reproduced since Boca Junior, double title holder in 2000 and 2001. With tears in his eyes, the Brazilian flooded the meeting with his happiness, before lifting the one of South America’s most coveted trophies. An evening he will remember.
