ÖFB star Marko Arnautovic gave FC Bologna a 2-1 (0-0) away win at Sampdoria Genoa in the twelfth round of Serie A on Sunday and brought the “Rossoblu” closer to the European Cup positions. The 32-year-old Viennese scored the winning goal in Genoa one minute after the home side equalized and secured Bologna’s fifth win of the season.

Mattias Svanberg shot the guests from Emilia-Romagna into the lead for the first time shortly after the break after preliminary work by Roberto Soriano (47th). But Sampdoria did not give up and came in the 77th minute through Morten Thorsby to the not undeserved equalizer. But only a minute later, Arnautovic struck and headed a cross from Svanberg to make it 2-1.

For Arnautovic, who also scored in the 2-0 win against Cagliari on Monday, it was the fifth goal in the eleventh league game. In the table, Bologna ranks ninth with 18 points, just one point behind fifth-placed AS Roma (19). Meanwhile, Sampdoria slipped to 18th place and is thus in the relegation zone.

“Joker” Cuadrado gives Juve a late win

On Saturday Juventus Turin celebrated a sense of achievement after two defeats. The Italian record champions won against AC Fiorentina on Saturday evening after a poor performance 1-0, while substitute Juan Cuadrado scored in the first minute of stoppage time.

Fiorentina was in the final quarter of an hour after the red card for Nikola Milenkovic with only ten men on the field. Juve improved to eighth place in the table for the time being.
