Salvadoran Uriel Canjura lost this afternoon 0-2 (8-21, 6-21) to Canadian Brian Yang and won the silver medal in the Badminton Singles category of the “First Junior Pan American Games” performed in Cali-Valle, Colombia.

Although Canjura put a lot of desire into him, it was not possible to surprise a more established rival on the court who from end to end led the way, imposing the conditions in a match that did not last more than an hour. The Canadian looked more experienced on an Ariel that is well through the stage of its sporting development, having a lot of ground to cover.

This afternoon’s was the second silver medal for Uriel and for the Salvadoran squad in these Games for athletes between 18 and 23 years old, in both branches. On Sunday, El Salvador had shot two bronze shots through Archery. In his first engagement this Monday and pairing with Fatima Centeno, Canjura had won another silver by losing the Mixed Doubles final against Canada 2-0.
