College Football: See how Texas A&M took off in the end to beat Auburn in SEC derby

In the SEC Conference West Division Classic, Texas A&M Aggies, ranked number 14, with seven wins and two losses, received Auburn Tigers, number 13 of College Football, at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, for week 11. The match was completely bland, with the two attacks producing absolutely nothing. Texas ended up with the victory by 20-3, but with great difficulty. The first half of the game ended with the score 3-3 and the only touchdown of the game was made in a big six in the last quarter.

Zach Calzada went for just 192 yards and didn’t make it to the end zone. The best player in the Aggies offense was running back Isaiah Spiller, who had good runs, 21 carried for 112 yards. However, he also did not enter the end zone.

Bo Nix had only 153 yards, with a horrendous average of 3.7 yards per pass attempt. He was unable to lead his troops in virtually any good campaign the entire game. Auburn’s quarterback even suffered an interception late in the game. Running back Tank Bigsby had a total of 15 carried for 69 yards into the game.

The game
The Aggies made a great maiden drive. Zach Calzada did a good job cranking up his tight end, Jalen Wydermyer, with a 25-yard catch to Auburn’s 36-line for the first down. Then Demond Demas was fired for 16 yards into the Tigers’ red zone at the 18-line. The situation further improved for the home team with Isaiah Spiller’s 13-yard run. However, the visiting defense showed up well to thwart the good campaign and force Seth Small’s field goal to 21 yards: 3-0.

A similar situation happened for the Tigers. The 60-yard campaign, focused on runs from Shaun Shivers and Tank Bigsby, reached the red zone at the 15-line. But Bo Nix didn’t complete a pass to Shivers. Kicker Anders Carlson came in to tie the SEC derby 3-3 with a 32-yard shot.

The match had a big cool down during the second quarter, since Auburn’s last score in the final 20 seconds of the first quarter. The two attacks produced nothing and only one Tigers campaign made it to midfield. There were six punts in a row and when Texas A&M had the chance to retake the lead, Seth Small missed a shot to 42 yards that passed the Y’s right. .

Neither team came back well from the break. With the first possession of the second half, the Aggies went to their fourth punt in the match, with a negative campaign. Auburn had a chance to finally get the game out of the game, making it to the 16-yard line. Carlson once again went for the kick, and now it was the Tigers kicker’s turn to miss a 33-yard kick. The tie continued at Kyle Field in Texas.

Habemus points at Kyle Fields
After practically a first half of the game with attacks completely nullified, the Aggies have finally reached the red zone since their first campaign. Calzada finally made a big play, sending a 49-yard torpedo to Caleb Chapman at 32 of the attack field and then to 22 with a 10-yard catch. At the four-line, the offense committed two false starts in a row, forcing Texas A&M back 10 yards to the 14-line. The home team’s situation worsened. His quarterback got a 10-yard run for the first down. However, at the end of the play, he had a strong contact in the shoulder region and went to the medical tent. The drive finally ended with some score. Seth Small hit a shot for 29 yards: 6-3.

New three and out for Auburn and Texas A&M took the opportunity to expand on the few chances he had. Isaiah Spiller had a good 23-yard run on the first play of the drive. Before the end of the third quarter, Calzada landed an 18-yard pass to Ainias Smith and Spiller ran for 15 yards to the 30-yard line. At the start of the last quarter, the attack failed to advance the ball in three downs and Small hit the longest shot in the game: 47 yards and 9-3 on the scoreboard.

Anyway, a touchdown
At 13:04 of the last quarter, one of the teams finally crossed the goal plan. Bo Nix took Jayden Peevy’s sack for 11 yards. The Tigers quarterback fumbled, Micheal Clemons returned 24 yards to end zone: touchdown! Texas risked a two-point conversion to widen: 17-3 on the scoreboard.

The Aggies defense forced a turnover on downs from the visitors in a campaign marked by the sack to Demani Richardson’s 15-yard loss to Bo Nix. Next, Zach Calzada moved his attack to the 18-yd-line. The quarterback himself attempted a short run to the first down on third down, without success, and Small went in once more to land a smoother 37-yard shot: 20-3.

The SEC West Division derby ended with the intercept of Bo Nix, who on fourth down forced a risky pass that went straight into the hands of Jaylon Jones. The Aggies ran with the ball until the clock was reset and the game ended.
