Clemens Fandrich: professional from Erzgebirge Aue suspended seven games – 2nd Bundesliga

Seven games instead of seven months: The DFB Federal Court has significantly reduced the penalty for Aue professional Clemens Fandrich (30) in the oral appeal hearing.

The court sentenced the FC Erzgebirge midfielder to a suspension of seven championship games for gross unsportsmanlike conduct against the assistant referee. So Fandrich has to watch until the end of the year and is eligible to play again in January.

Fandrich after the negotiation marathon: “You don’t need something like that very often in life. After six hours of negotiation, you have a headache. The big shock of seven months that stood as a lock in the room is gone. ”

Oskar Riedmeyer, who, as the deputy chairman of the DFB Federal Court, headed the session on Thursday, said of the verdict: “We are convinced that Clemens Fandrich yelled at assistant referee Roman Potemkin so vehemently that he saliva the assistant referee Has hit the face. But there were final doubts as to whether he actually wanted to spit in Mr. Potemkin’s face on purpose. “

Fandrich was initially banned for seven months by the DFB sports court on November 4th. The committee had no doubts about the portrayal of Potemkins, who stated that the Aue professional spat on his right eye in the home game against FC Ingolstadt on October 22nd.

Nevertheless, the joy and relief prevail that the very difficult judgment of the first instance was changed in favor of Clemens. “

On November 4, the sports court had no doubts about the representation of the referee assistant in its decision. Fandrich was therefore severely punished for gross unsportsmanlike conduct.
