The Cristo de las Noas Tourist and Religious Complex and Carreras MX, launched the challenge to all local and foreign runners for the 7 and 2 kilometer competition that will take place next Sunday December 5th.
Is about a unique competition that begins on a completely flat route in the center of the city and in its last section requires the ascent to the top of said complex. This race Twelve years ago it was founded by Carreras MX and Father Rodríguez Tenorio (f), it is now tracked with some modifications so that more people are involved and tourism is promoted in this emblematic part of the city.
The presentation was held at the offices of the OCV Torreón in the presence of the president of the organization, Elías Rodríguez; Verónica Soto, director of the Cable Car; Montse Rebollo, representing the Cristo de las Noas Council; Alejandro Marroquín, representative of the Municipal Sports Institute; Ramón Chufani, representative of the Inedec; and Alfredo Alemán Baños, director of Carreras MX.
Elías Rodríguez highlighted that this race is a good reason to attract tourism to the region, with new areas such as Puerto Noas, where well-being and family coexistence are promoted.
Verónica Soto indicated that Registered runners will be able to descend the Cable Car at the end of the competition and there will be food in the so-called ‘Foodtruck Súbete al Cerro’, to have a different experience.
What is the race route?
The race will start at 8:00 am from the Cable Car for the distance of 7 kilometers, from the Treviño street to exit through Paseo Morelos, going through the Main Square, they will continue for Paseo Colon to take the Juarez avenue and continue down the street Comfort, which will lead you to the Cerro de las Noas.
The distance of 2 kilometers will start on the slopes of the hill, the last kilometer is uphill, so it is the most complicated part. The quota is for 700 competitors. The categories range from Youth to Seniors, there will be a cash prize and everyone will participate in the raffle for gifts.
Registration is processed in the usual places and trainings are held every Thursday. Alfredo Alemán stressed that this race is very helpful for those runners who are preparing for the Lala Marathon, that is why outstanding local athletes are expected to participate, as well as foreigners.
