Sebastian Rode could have to hang up his football boots prematurely. According to a media report, the captain of Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt is having trouble with his knee.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s captain Sebastian Rode threatens to end his career prematurely. At least that’s what the “Bild” reports. Accordingly, the 31-year-old has to struggle with stubborn knee problems. In the summer, the former Bayern and BVB professional was operated on for the fifth time on the joint. Despite the intervention, the midfielder, who has only made two appearances (one goal) this Bundesliga season, always feels a lot of pain.
Frankfurt’s sports director Markus Krösche said about “Bild”: “Seppl is an extremely important player for us. (…) We hope that he can gradually increase the burden to help us.” According to information from the newspaper, however, Eintracht doubts exactly that. Rather, the Hessians are preparing for Rode – despite a contract that runs until 2024 – to end his career next summer.
According to “Bild”, Marc Roca, who was last brought into contact with the SGE, will not be the designated replacement for Rode. The salary of the Bayern bench press is therefore not affordable for the Frankfurters.
