First, a first remark on the sporting and popular success of this meeting organized on Saturday evening by the Amiens Boxing Club in this beautiful room of the Quatre Chênes in Amiens. A room long unknown to the general public but which is located close to the headquarters of the CDOS and Regional Judo.

Jérôme Fouache, the handyman of boxing, trainer but also organizer worked tirelessly to ensure that the program is of quality. It was because overall the six professional meetings were balanced and appealed to 500 spectators paid who had met while competition reigned with the football matches of the ASC and ACA at the Licorne and at the Moulonguet stadium. Among the pros, the program included three Amiens. The first to step into the ring was Nabil Bouazni who won his first professional fight, under the tender eyes of his mother but also of his sister Lea Tellier-Bouazni who plays football and is the captain of the ASC women’s team. Next, Kamel Guercif measured Alili, in front of whom he did draw. Finally, for the final of the National Criterium, Ouissam Hattab was declared the winner by the referee in his fight against Namana de Also.

It was a rather spectacular fight (revenge) in the sense that we saw the Amiens retreat to better counter attack. At one point we believed that Namana would be arrested because he was bleeding from a stroke but the doctor on duty decided he could continue. Ouissam Hattab, who is turning 35, announced that this would be his last performance, but given that he has seized the crown, he could continue his career and thus appear on the program of the Amiens Circus next January. Because boxing is obviously in its true place in the circus and when you are from Amiens, it is obvious that it is a matter of real pride.

Hattab, who follows his wife’s advice, therefore goes rest and leave for a new challenge. Let us add that if the club was able to put on the program no less than six professional fights, it was thanks to the contribution of partners who put their hand in the wallet. It is obvious that the Amiens Métropole subsidy is not sufficient. Once again, congratulations to all those who were able to ensure the success of this gala and we must never forget that we are in a period of Covid and that the public has been respectful of barrier gestures.
