Bordeaux Ambitions Girondines slipped in Chauray

On a cloud at the start of the season, the Bordelaises, residents of N2, were eliminated on Saturday night in Chauray (N3) in the 2nd round of the Coupe de France

Very fit and sure of their strength, it was as favorites that the Bordeaux Ambitions Girondines players went to Chauray, on the outskirts of Niort, for the second round of the Coupe de France match. Led 7-0 from the outset, due to the division gap with the opponents (N2 – N3), the Bordelaises will never manage to pick up the score.

From the start of the match, we feel the Girondines surprised by the success of Deux-Sévrienne. Despite some good offensive passages, Chauray leads 20-14 on his floor at the first timeout.

But Bordeaux remains in the race and dominates this first quarter by one point. It is without counting on the pugnacity of the opposing players, carried by back in form; Kowalska’s points are no longer enough to come back to the score: 48-40 at halftime.

“A good Chauraisian team”

In the second half, the Bordelaises are blunt, the workforce reduced to eight players causing them damage. Chauray manages to drive home the point in this third quarter that they dominate by three points. Bordeaux is then relegated to eleven points. We must go back, and quickly, for Freddy Dogoum and his.

But despite the good collective effort of this last quarter, the Girondines make too many mistakes and are braked for the first time this season, which is more by a team of supposedly lower rank (89-80).

At 29, the Polish winger of Bordeaux Ambitions Girondines displays an experience that she intends to put at the service of her new club to reach the B League within five years. Next stop on the road to NF1 this Saturday at 8 p.m. with the reception of Tarbes at the Elisabeth-Riffiod complex in Villenave-d’Ornon.

Freddy Dogoum then seems disappointed but not dejected, far from it: “we played a very good team, well coached, it is now up to us to refocus on the main objective: the championship”.
