Beaten singles Kim Clijsters wins doubles alongside Kirsten Flipkens at World Team Tennis (video)


After four defeats in the first four duels of this exhibition tennis competition, the Clijsters – Flipkens pair have finally won. Against the German Tajana Maria and the American Amanda Anisimova, the Belgians won 5-0.

In the process, Kirsten Flipkens, along with Mexican Hans Hach Verdugo in the mixed doubles, lost 5-3 to Maria and the American Austin Krajicek.

Kim Clijsters, opposed to Anisimova (WTA 78) in the last decisive duel for the victory, was beaten 5-1 by the semi-finalist of Roland-Garros 2019.

Poor record

In the standings, New York Empire is fifth and last with a record of 0 wins for 5 losses. The Orange County Breakers are third (3v-2d) while the top 2, which will compete for the final victory, is currently occupied by the San Diego Aviators (4v-1d) and the Springfield Lasers (3v-1d).

All World Team Tennis matches are played on the courts at Indian Wells Tennis Garden, California. The competition continues until November 28.
