Basketball – Gießen brings Tate to the BBL to replace Alkins

Gießen (SID) – The JobStairs Giessen 46ers from the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) have reacted to the departure of shooting guard Rawle Alkins to league rival MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg and signed a talented American as a replacement. Jalen Tate (23), who last played for the University of Arkansas and gained experience in the Summer League with the NBA club Houston Rockets, is coming to Giessen for one season.

Alkins (24) had played the first two games of the season for Giessen and went to Ludwigsburg for a fixed transfer fee. “We have to make sure that we stay competitive, and that’s why we decided to commit,” said head coach Pete Strobl.
