At Herdeckes rowers, not only Olympic ace is honored

There were only a few competitions, but still a lot of successes. The RC “Westfalen” Herdecke has now been honored.

Despite the few competitions this year, the athletes of the Rowing club “Westfalen” Herdecketo achieve numerous successes. This was duly celebrated at the autumn festival. Dr. Hagen Zeller honored by the new board of directors Johannes Weissenfeld – Silver medal winner with the Germany eight at the Olympics in Tokyo – many other athletes.

The children made the start, eight of them achieved victories or placements. Charlotte Reissenberger and Cläre Springorum in double sculls as well as Mats Brunow in single (3rd place in the state decision) and Jan Springorum (first in easy single) were awarded as well as the Herdecker Club quad with Mats Brunow, Jan Springorum, Felix Waltenberg and Barne Hecht, controlled by Cläre Springorum, as well as Barne Hecht / Lars Kuhn and Tom Zeller / Mats Brunow in two and Zeller for top placements in the autumn regattas.

In their first year as a junior, Debora Ceci, Lucie Prähler and Jonathan collected first places. Moritz Küpper and David Kalle are already established here. Kalle rowed into the nationwide top ten at the German U19 class, while Küpper won bronze in an easy double quad. In Krefeld, the duo won the national championship title in the “difficult” double scull, Küpper also became national champion in the easy single.

Trainer stops

In the senior class, Lena Laska found her way back into competitive sport and won the easy one. Trainer Katharina Golüke, who will resign from the trainer office for professional reasons, won a medal in the Masters single.
