Did an extra portion of happiness hormones help Germany’s freshly baked tennis world champion Alexander Zverev (24) climb the throne for the second time?
When he won the tournament in Vienna, his new girlfriend Sophia Thomalla (32) was at his side for the first time. After beating the American Frances Tiafoe in the final, he made her a declaration of love: “Ten years or so, you have to put up with me on the tour.”
Also at the Masters in Paris, where the Hamburger failed to Daniil Medvedev (25) in the semifinals, she sat in his box, with physiotherapist accreditation.

When Zverev won the ATP Finals against his Russian friend and long-term rival on Sunday and was crowned world champion for the second time, the presenter, actress and gravel entrepreneur was missing at his side. The lot of a relationship in which both partners are very busy in different areas. The Berliner had appointments herself, so she couldn’t come to Turin.
On Monday, however, she should fly to the Maldives with the Olympic champion on vacation. The world champion title and very big ambitions for the coming year in their luggage.
“The good thing about our relationship is that one understands the other’s job,” Zverev said a few days ago at RTL. So he’s not angry if she isn’t there at every tournament. Thomalla is a woman who earns her own money and is not on her boyfriend’s pocket.

The fact that she is already significantly involved in Zverev’s triumph would be an exaggeration. Even before she entered his life, he was a successful player: Olympic champion in 2021, five Masters titles, US Open final in 2020, number 3 in the world. Responsible for this is mainly his team around father and trainer Alexander senior (61), brother and manager Misha (34), his second coach Michail Ledowskij (35) and his “girl for everything” Sergej Bubka junior (34).
But Thomalla automatically ensures rest in Zverev’s life in other ways. He’s now making headlines positively for women’s stories. The tennis and show world is happy with both of them. Previously, you could read about the violence allegations of his ex-girlfriend Olga Scharypova, which are being investigated by the tennis association ATP, which Zverev said he wanted.
