Alcaraz won and took … the point of the year?

Carlos Alcaraz (32nd in the ATP ranking) is undoubtedly the great attraction in Next Gen Finals of Milan. Starting as the top seed, the Spaniard was the favorite against Brandon Nakashima (63º) and sealed his classification to the semifinals of the tournament after winning with sets of 4-3 (4), 4-1 and 4-3 (4).

With a sober and fast tennis from the back of the court, and a forehand difficult to contain for any rival, the 18-year-old was superior to the North American, in the second match corresponding to Group A. After an hour and 25 minutes already lack of a match (against Juan Manuel Cerúndolo), the European became the first to enter the top four.

In this context, Alcaraz captured fantastic tennis on Italian soil and provoked the applause of the crowd with his genius. Especially, with the score 3-0 in the second set, “Carlitos” left a pearl that is shaping up for the “point of the year”. After an entertaining exchange, the young man tried a fantastic pirouette and left the American exhausted with an unconventional execution.

The present and the future laugh at Alcaraz, who will seek to close the year with the championship in Milan.
