Nicolás Tagliafico, Perr Schuurs, Davy Klaassen and David Neres will be part of Ajax’s basic eleven in the Champions League match with Besiktas on Wednesday evening, it is suspected. General Newspaper. According to the newspaper, these are the changes Erik ten Hag talked about the day before the showdown in Istanbul. The Ajax trainer assured that there would be ‘a very good team on the field’ in the Vodafone Park. “We also have to win.”

In the Wednesday edition of The Telegraph nothing can be found about a probable position of Ajax this time. Edson Álvarez misses the reunion with Besiktas due to a suspension. The midfielder annex Mexican international is, according to the General Newspaper replaced by Davy Klaassen. It would be his first base place in the Champions League for the Orange international. Klaassen previously came in against Besiktas (19 minutes) and in the double confrontation with Borussia Dortmund (21 and 45 minutes). On German soil he took care of the 1-3 in extra time.

Tagliafico is also expected to take the place of Daley Blind. The Argentinian played his last match for Ajax on 24 October against PSV (5-0 win): a ten-minute substitute. His last base place dates from more than a month and a half ago: 58 minutes in the home match against FC Utrecht (0-1 loss) on October 3. That was also the last game in which Neres appeared at the starting signal. The Brazilian attacker also participated for an hour at the time and since then had to make do with six short raids of no more than half an hour. Schuurs reportedly takes the place of Jurriën Timber. The defender has not kicked off since the game against sc Heerenveen (0-2) on October 16.

Ten Hag hopes that the other players he is going to draft will now stand up. “In previous times, the players who were given a chance did not give home. And that annoys me immensely. We didn’t win then,” said the trainer on Tuesday. Ten Hag probably referred to Ajax’s 0-0 draw earlier this month in the Johan Cruijff ArenA against Go Ahead Eagles. Ryan Gravenberch and Steven Berghuis, among others, were rested in that game.

“The selection has to prove that we are strong together. I’m not talking about reserves, but they’re all basic players. I take into account complaints that some players have. In addition, we want to develop further as a team, different tactics and different compositions. We want to test that. We want to refuel self-confidence”, emphasized the Ajax trainer once again.

The meeting between Besiktas and Ajax starts on Wednesday at 6.45 pm and is led by Bosnian referee Irfan Peljto. Ajax, which won each of the first four group matches, needs a draw to be sure of group victory.

Probable Ajax line-up: feather; Mazraoui, Schuurs, Martínez, Tagliafico; Gravenberch, Klaassen, Berghuis; Neres, Haller and Tadic.
