This sport from Canada continues to establish itself in Occitanie. Since September 2021, an ax and knife throwing club has existed in the Gers. The association is domiciled at Préchac, Come in Even and Fleurance. She is a member of the French Knife and Ax Throwing Federation (FLASH).

“The idea germinated during the first confinement”, says Jean-Francois Carrere, at the initiative of this new club, with a small group of friends. “I got closer to the French Knife and Ax Throwing Federation. They advised me to create an association ”, explains the Gersois, contacted by Actu.fr.

On the other hand, it requires “few resources”. “We use pallets to hold the targets, usually logs 40 centimeters in diameter. Knives and axes must be labeled by the federation to participate in competitions ”.
