The sad news has hit the football community. Former Sparta player Denis Kovba became one of the victims of the covid. A 44-year-old Belarusian footballer has died after losing the disease. The information about his death was confirmed today on its Twitter account by Sparta Prague.

“We received the news that our former player and owner of the championship title from the 2009/2010 season Denis Kovba had died at the age of 43,” confirmed the club.

One week ago, Russia’s Samara published a report from Kovb’s wife that a former national teammate was fighting in an intensive care unit. Now he has succumbed to insidious diseases, according to the iSport.cz portal.

The Belarusian footballer was active not only in his homeland. During his career, he also wore the jersey of the Ukrainian clubs FK Zirka Kirovohrad and PFK Oleksandia. In Russia, he succeeded the Wings of the Soviets Samara and FK Khimki. He had thirty-seven national team starts to his credit. He didn’t make much of an impact in Sparta, when he was injured after eight matches.
