2G chaos – fewer fans and a lot of confusion

What a holiday! 43,429 fans saw the 2-1 win against Dortmund – a record number of spectators in the Red Bull Arena.

It won’t be that cozy again for the time being. As of today, the 2G regulation applies throughout Saxony with a maximum capacity utilization of 50 percent. So far, so unclear. Because many questions – especially with the lower class amateurs – remain open.

“Based on what I know, I at least assume that the status in the regional league will be retained,” explains NOFV boss Hermann Winkler (58) cautiously. Means: The training operations of FC Lok and BSG Chemie would continue as normal. The games would not be endangered either. It remains unclear how to proceed with already purchased tickets or season tickets if the holders have not been vaccinated or have recovered.

It gets even more difficult in the leagues below, where the first cancellations have already been made. Winkler: “Due to the poor information situation and fear of threatened penalties.” Among other things, the game of the 2nd team of FC Lok in the district class against Brave was canceled on Sunday.

Also open what happens to the national cup this week. Chemistry opponent Dresdner SC, for example, is considered an amateur club that has to bow to the rules of private meetings. Means: A maximum of ten people (players, staff, referees) involved in the game may not fall under the 2G rule.

When the overload level occurs, things get even more complicated …
