West Java Stay away from DKI Jakarta

JAKARTA – The West Java contingent continues to add to its treasury of medals at the XX Papua PON 2021. As of Wednesday (6/10/2021) at 22.00 WIB, West Java has collected 150 medals.

With details, 50 gold, 45 silver and 55 bronze medals. The addition of the gold medal took place in the Women’s Martil Hammer number through athlete Tresna Puspita.

Appearing at Mimika Sport Complex (MSC), Tresna Puspita won gold with a throw of 50.73 meters. Meanwhile, Indah Pratiwi from Riau won the silver medal with a throw of 47.77 meters, and Syarina Priandani from DKI Jakarta won the bronze medal with a throw of 47.69 meters.

“As for the target itself, I’m not satisfied, because my own target was to break the national record,” Tresna said when interviewed at Mimika Sport Complex.

Although he has not been able to break the record, according to him, the throw is his best achievement. “Actually my best was 48, but I was also 52, and now 50.73 meters is also my best,” he said.

Thanks to the addition of the gold medal, West Java feels at the top of the temporary standings for the XX Papua PON medal. They are ahead of the DKI Jakarta contingent, which has just collected 135 medals (47 gold, 40 silver, and 48 bronze).

In the third position is occupied by Papua. The host athlete has so far collected 108 medals, with details of 46 gold, 22 silver and 40 bronze.
