Trieste Basketball: The first defeat in C Silver arrives. Cervignano 48-56 passes at the Allianz Dome

The first defeat in the league arrives, for the Under 19 team that is participating in the championship of C Silver Fvg: in comparison with the most experienced Credifriuli Cervignano, Andrea Mura’s boys lose 48-56 atAllianz Dome, at the end of a match where the defenses proved to be preponderant over the attacks.

Hard and tough game, with Trieste facing a Cervignano devoid of the emotional leader Dijust (on the bench for signing honor), but organized and with excellent physicality: the first period immediately sees Allianz settle for the shot from outside and then take a small advantage of five points, but Cervignano immediately recovers and, despite many errors on both sides, the luminous scoreboard scores 9 – 8 after ten minutes. Coach Mura tries to rotate the men to move the attack and, in the second period, also finds six points in a row by Bonano, who together with Rolli and Longo animates the red and white offensive front: Credifriuli, however, is always good at staying at contact thanks to Tossut and Lorenzo Aloisio and forces Allianz to play at their pace, remaining on +2 in the middle of the game.

Third period more or less along the same lines as the previous two quarters, with Longo and partners who struggle to break free and rely too much on shooting from outside (4/22 overall) and forcing in attack: Cervignano takes the opportunity to collect some counter-attacks and consequently easy points, with Tossut being a real lama and the rest of the team following him. The game remains in balance and Trieste, however, is good at not letting itself be distanced from the guests, breaking the offensive fluidity of Zuccolotto and his teammates: a minute and a half from the end, Cervignano is on +2 but five points in a row of the former red and white Andrea Anello are lethal for Trieste, which is distanced and can no longer recover.

Ends 48-56 and coach Andrea Mura at the end of the race he comments as follows: “These matches are the reason why we decided to do this championship; we take note of the good and not so good things that this game teaches us and, analyzing the forty minutes, I would say that we made a good defensive performance but we committed naivety by allowing a few counter-attacks too many. In attack we have never entered the rhythm, sinning both from the outside and as regards the internal danger: we must be decidedly more bad and get used to games of this type, otherwise the experience and qualities of our opponents emerge.”.
