Next year, another stage of the Tour de France will start in Belgium. In 2019 ‘le Grand Départ’ was in Brussels and the peloton went to Binche in Hainaut for the third stage. In 2022, the riders will arrive in Binche via Denmark and northern France for the sixth stage.

The 2022 Tour starts with three days in Denmark and then heads to the north of France for, among other things, a ride à la Paris-Roubaix, but in the opposite direction from Lille to Wallers. For the sixth stage, on July 7, 2022, the peloton will then move to Binche in Hainaut.

It is not yet known exactly what that sixth stage will look like. Next Thursday, Tour boss Christian Prud’homme will officially present the route in Paris. The mayor of Binche, Laurent Devin, will already be there.
