The injuries of Kortazar, San Bartolomé and Urain enabled rotations in the starting eleven that the two promoted Basconia players have occupied, both from 2002

Oier López and Kepa Uriarte are living a sweet moment at Bilbao Athletic. The transfer of Imanol García de Albéniz to CD Mirandés last July allowed the two left-back sides to aspire to ownership, enabling the opportunity to serve Mikel Kortazar from being the chosen one this season in the recently released Primera RFEF, with the permission of the promoted from Basconia for that demarcation, Oier López. However, a muscle injury of the ondarrutarra, trained in the Lezama factory from Alevines, now allows López (8-2-2002) to take over from the left-handed lane as he did against Celta B last Friday at the facilities of Lezama.

For his part, Uriarte (23-2-2002) also made his debut as a starter against the celestial subsidiary to cover the gap left by Víctor San Bartolomé, diminished by a sprained ankle, and above Ewan Urain, who suffered muscularly during the week. The Fruiz midfielder acted ahead of Prados and Diarra, behind the false 9, Juan Artola, in a fundamental position in De la Sota’s gear, who relies a lot on his performance and on those of Oier López himself. Uriarte, trained in the rojiblanca factory from Alevín C, added his fourth game with Bilbao Athletic, after two campaigns in the Juvenil de Honor, with 26 and 20 games totaling 9 goals, and 23 and a goal with Basconia skippered by Patxi Salinas.

Both are reunited with De la Sota, who molded them into the Youth of Honor, where they were two of his fundamental pillars and they won the League. This course planned to gradually align them so that they were firing up and adapting to a higher category, where the speed and intensity of the opponents require another twist. Circumstances force him to advance his plans. After the 0-1 against the Vigo team, the Santurtzi coach gave them a wink of complicity: «In this club it is what there is. A year and a half ago, the two Nicos (Williams and Serrano) were with me in the Juvenile de Honor and, against Celta B, Oier and Uriarte have had the opportunity to start, taking a step forward, like others who come from before Basconia like Naveira or Lorente, who had already had their chances and were doing well. That’s good ”, indicated De la Sota in his training roadmap, while simultaneously aspiring to the noble zone as in the last two seasons integrated in the playoff for promotion to the SmartBank League.

Oier López played 20 games last season in the Third Division, with one goal, while two seasons ago, inserted in the Youth of Honor with De la Sota, he acted in 26 stakes, with a goal. Formed from Alevín D de Lezama since the 2012-13 campaign, Oier López is a compliant left-back, fast and defensively powerful, orderly and neat with the ball. Kepa Uriarte has a route and versatility in the wide area, with arrival in the area and a wide margin of progression. The José Zorrilla annex, against Real Valladolid Promises this Sunday at 12 noon, follows a new test for both puppies.
