The Cartagena Badminton Club has been promoted to the First B of the National Club League. Therefore, a new illusion is opened for the Cartagena club in the team competition after the resignation for economic reasons last season to play the Playoff for promotion to First Division.
The Primera B is a newly created national category that aims to promote the Spanish team competition. After the restructuring carried out by the Spanish Badminton Federation, it will be the third category of Spanish badminton, being above the Second Division in which the club competed last season.
This category will have teams from all over the National scene and with a great tradition of badminton, such as CB Huesca, CB Rinconada de Sevilla, CB Soria, or CB Astures de Gijón. So the Cartagena club will have to fight with clubs of great depth and experience in this type of competition.
The new category is made up of those teams that dropped from First A last season, as well as those clubs that played in the playoff for promotion to First and did not achieve promotion. CB Cartagena has had access to this category thanks to an invitation from the Spanish Federation, since CB Cartagena would not have an official right after having resigned last season to play the aforementioned promotion playoff to First A.
In this way, the club will seek to stay in the category and try within an ambitious quarry project to reach the highest possible level without giving up absolutely anything and looking after each day to finish at the top of the table.
It should also be noted a novelty of great importance, the creation of the subsidiary of the club that will compete in the Second Division, a category in which the first team played last year, with the challenge of endorsing the good role of last season and achieving the desired although difficult objective of the promotion with the two teams to the first division A and First division B respectively
