The balls are flying again in the Eisleben tennis hall

Eisleben / MZ – With the desired date it didn’t work out after all. Actually, Christian Huth and Christian Fiebig wanted to open their tennis hall in Eisleber Wiesenweg on the day of German unity, October 3rd. But the ubiquitous difficulties with building materials have delayed them too.

Of course only for 14 days. And so the two owners of “CourtFit”, as the facility is now called, invite you to the opening on Sunday, October 17th. Interested parties can take a look around the tennis hall from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and – if there is a free space – they can also play. There will be a small buffet for refreshment and a bouncy castle for the children.

Renovation of the tennis hall in Eisleben: many hours worked

Huth (32) and his business partner Fiebig (34) are independent tennis coaches in Halle. In April of this year, Huth bought the tennis facility in Eisleben at a foreclosure auction by the local court for 73,000 euros. Huth, who was born and raised in Eisleben, once started playing tennis himself in the tennis center that opened in 1997. The hall, which also includes five outdoor spaces, has been empty for more than two years.

The building structure was in principle in order, says Huth. Nonetheless, the two owners of course still had to work many hours in and on the property over the summer. They are grateful for up to ten volunteers. As Huth says, athletes and coaching colleagues and even their families offered their support. His parents Gabriele and Ingo Huth, who live in Eisleben, have also relieved him of a lot.

No gastronomic offer in the tennis hall

The local companies Elektro Ehrt and HSK carried out the necessary electrical, heating and plumbing work. “We have converted the lighting to LED,” says Huth. A particularly efficient condensing boiler was installed for the heating. Another major project was the construction of rainwater drainage around the building.

The roof also had to be sealed in some places. Everything inside has been prepared so that the game can begin. “In the future, we will renew the flooring,” says Huth. The small bar can also be used. “But apart from drinks, we won’t have any gastronomic offerings here.” It would be possible to rent the room for private celebrations or events.

Winter training will start in November

Next spring, the outdoor facilities will also be refurbished. One of the five outdoor courts will in future be a volleyball court. But beach tennis is not to be played there, but volleyball. After the opening, operations will start on Monday. The first interested parties have already registered, according to Huth. For example, you can regularly subscribe to a place for a certain period of time. The hall will be manned every day, including on weekends. Training will only be sporadic for the time being because people are currently still playing outside.

Winter training will start in November. Inquiries are possible at any time. “We’re very flexible there.” Point games and tournaments are also planned. So the New Year’s tournament is to be revived. Huth is also thinking of other offers such as badminton and fitness. “Motion on Court” is a program that many health insurance companies subsidize as a prevention course. Overall, it is important for Huth to develop cooperations. “We want to make a difference for the region.”
