The 33 athletes from Cipole who will compete in the Araucanía Games

This Monday the National Games of Araucanía and Rio begin Negro defined the selectives in the eight sports that make up the competition, in seven there will be athletes Cipoleños. In total, there are 33 young local athletes who will compete in the contest in which Chile will not participate this year.

To maintain the spirit of the event and give continuity to the 28 years of competition, the Patagonian authorities decided to keep the name of Araucanía, but adapting it to a national version due to the absence of the trans-Andean delegations for health reasons.

In the case of soccer and basketball, tournaments will be held in Chubut, athletics and handball in Neuquén, swimming will take place in Santa Cruz, volleyball in Tierra del Fuego, and judo and cycling in Black river.

The event will be presented in each of the venues this Monday, November 1 at 6:00 p.m., in the case of Río Negro it will be at the Ángel Cayetano Arias sports center, in Viedma.

The contest will run until Sunday 7, which will be the last day of competition and later the closing takes place. in Chubut the point count will be announced and the winning province will be announced with an award ceremony in Puerto Madryn.

In this province, the selectives were carried out through evaluations and concentrations, with the collaboration of clubs, municipalities, associations and federations. The Cipoleños athletes are 33 in total and soccer, in both branches, is the one that has more local athletes.

On Athletics based in Neuquén, Milagros Arrigoni, Rosario León, Francisca Zuchi, Zahiara Xáceres and Gabriel Bastias will compete. On handball, Gonzalo Solís, Mateo Rais, Tomás Morales, Victoria Tello and Sol Ruppel.

The basketball, which will compete in Chubut, were selected two players from the Municipal School, Daniela Soto and Lara Lencina.

Meanwhile, in soccer, Luciana Obreque, Mailen Ponce, María Biffi, Catalina Trasarti, Carolina Flores and Renata Camadro, will make up the women’s team; and Lucas Kollef, Benjamín García, Lautaro Hernández, Valentín Flores, Juan Parra and Agustín Arbanesi, the male.

On swimming, Emilia Avendaño, Valentino Pascuali and Juan Barros, will compete in Santa Cruz. The volley, based in Tierra del Fuego, Selene González, Luján Pereira and Maximiliano Rivas were selected.

Meanwhile he judo and the cycling, will be the sports that will compete “at home”. The first will have Cipoleños judocas in the selective: Tomás Guzmán, Rodrigo Gaba and Ángel Montelpare; while in cycling it is the only discipline without a Cipolean presence.
