With the participation of 143 veteran tennis players, the second edition of the Mango Tennis Open 2021 by Tu Casa RD began, which will run for the next three weeks on the CEC courts in this capital.
The tournament, organized by Dichens Salcedo, competes in the C3, D and Novice categories, which are the three with the largest number of amateur players from the main tennis clubs in the country.
“We are proud of the historical participation of 143 tennis players in just our second edition, even in only one of the categories there are 66 players, that is, only with that one completes a table of 64 participants. We are happy to have generated confidence in these players and especially in the sponsors who made this possible ”, said Salcedo when he opened the competition.
Each match of the tournament, which is also sponsored by Magic Plastic Center, is played to the best of a set of six games in the Round Robin mode, from which 26 players will be classified into a round of 32 with six “byes” until a champion is determined. by sudden death.
During the contest, the sanitary protocols established by the authorities to prevent contagion of covid-19 are fully applied, therefore, the constant use of masks for the public and the players is mandatory, except when the latter enter the field. In addition, the vaccination certificate with the two doses against the virus is required and social distancing also applies.
