The sports association “Sport Experience Ideas” of Santeramo and the 2 ° Didactic Circle “San Francesco d’Assisi” were awarded within the national project “Racchette di Classe” promoted by the Italian Badminton Federation.
The “Sport Green” initiative had as its objective to stimulate pupils to practice sport while respecting the environment and to make them aware of the importance of respectful behavior in sport. With this in mind, the project has proposed a reflection window by helping children assisted by teachers to express their ideas on this theme, through graphic drawings to interpret, depict, describe, analyze, document or tell the proposed theme.
The awards ceremony took place on Sunday 26 October 2021 during the Italian Under Badminton Championships in Milan. In addition to the boys, the new executive Angela Marvulli, the teacher Angela Caponio and the project tutor Rocco Ciccarone, technician of Sport Experience Ideas, were awarded. The tutor expressed himself as follows: “I am really proud, as regional coordinator of the project, that Puglia can be represented on all three steps of the podium. Our region has spent a lot, continuing the project even behind a screen with the DAD; in motor and sports literacy through Badminton and the results have rewarded us. ” The large number of representatives was also enriched by the Apulians Giuseppe Calò (National Councilor), Giuseppe Lassandro (Delegate Puglia), by the parents of the winners and by the friends of the Michelangelo Marconi Institute in Laterza. “We have made known the positive side of badminton” said Lassandro “children, parents, school representatives will remember badminton not only for the racket and the shuttlecock but also for the travel and the exchange of relationships”.
