RWDM – Zulte Waregem: the Cup can be cruel

By aligning Togui at the forefront, Nangis and Nzuzi on the flanks as well as Ephestion in a free role behind the striker, Vincent Euvrard had decided to advocate an offensive game. No question of hiding and playing ten in front of the rectangle of Defourny.

Only here, after ten small seconds of play, the good intentions were shattered since the residents of D1A already found the opening in the defense of Molenbeek.

The RWDM did not feel sorry for itself and as it does regularly in D1B, took control of the operations and the ball. The intentions were good, the Molenbeekois tried to project themselves forward but the construction was made difficult by a team of Zulte with the high pressure more than embarrassing. The center of Nangis would have deserved better in the 10th.

Nangis has been the fit man on the RWDM side in recent weeks. The second period was more disjointed. Zulte initially tried to attack the Molenbeek goal before leaving possession to RWDM and retreating to his camp. Nzuzi blew up his supporters but his goal was canceled for an offside.

The last quarter of an hour was a real attack-defense, Nzuzi had the qualification ball at the end of his foot but sent it into the clouds when he had had plenty of time to adjust.
