Raiders owner accuses NFL over Jon Gruden case

Mark Davis, owner of the

Las Vegas Raiders
, expressed his annoyance with the NFL for the moment in which they released the controversial emails, which contained racist and sexist allegations, and which led to the resignation of Jon Gruden as head coach of the team.

Davis assures that the NFL he had known about the matter for approximately two months before, and accused that they did not let him know at the time, which would have facilitated the process for all parties.

It’s a matter of time, “Davis said.” That’s probably the disappointment I had. Well, the fact that have known a couple of months before and have not let us know. We weren’t informed until, I guess it was that Thursday (Oct 7), and we heard it initially on The Wall Street Journal. Initially it was a rumor, they did not give us the email at that time, and The Wall Street Journal I would not do it. We spoke to the league later that afternoon and by Friday (October 8), they started giving us all the information, I spoke to the Commissioner and stuff. But I think if we had gotten the information in early summer when they found out, it would have been much easier for everyone involved, “he declared after a meeting with all the owners of the NFL.

One of the reporters present at the event asked Davis if he thought his team had been treated unfairly.

“No, I’m not going to get into any of that“, said. “We are Raiders. We are used to this. That’s what our life is about. It’s disappointing, all with Jon, you know. It’s just life.

Mark Davis says he has never seen Gruden commit immoral acts

“I’ve never seen Jon show off any of those things in practice with the Raiders,” Davis said. “He is no longer the coach of the Raiders. It’s something that had to be done. It didn’t represent what the Raiders stand for. “
