Positive results despite the defeat for the Black Hocks

The season of the Quebec Junior / Senior Baseball League (LBSMQ) is now a thing of the past and the organization of the Jarrets Noirs de Beauce takes the opportunity to take stock of its 2021 season which ended last week, while the Head Coach’s Troop lost in the grand final in the fifth and very last game of the series.

After seeing the 2020 final between them and the Drummondville Brock be canceled due to the pandemic, the Black Knuckles were in full swing for the 2021 season.

The 2021 season of the league will have been exciting until the very end of the regular calendar. Being in a constant fight with the Polycor de Charlesbourg for the championship of the regular calendar, the Jarrets Noirs (JN) had the chance to seize the 1st place by facing this same Polycor in the last game of the season.

Unfortunately, the Beaucerons had to admit defeat to the count of 6 to 2 and were satisfied with the 2nd place by virtue of a record of 12 wins and 6 losses. This spot earned them a pass for the first round of the playoffs. Going directly to the semifinals, the Jarrets Noirs crossed swords with the Patriotes de Québec, who had finished just behind them in 3rd place.

JN started the series with a bang with two wins. Rules require, the Black Knots had to go without three starting players, including the pitcher par excellence of the 2020 season and the first hitter in the roster, for the rest of the playoffs.

The Patriotes leveled the series 2 to 2, but the Jarrets Noirs drew on their resources to finally defeat Quebec with difficulty in 5 games and reach the final.

The loss of key elements was a turning point in the final, but the players rolled up their sleeves and managed to bring the series to the limit, only one stride away from victory.

« It feels good to see baseball again, to smell the grass, to hear the sound of the bat on the ball, the sound of the leather of the gloves and we say see you next year », To conclude the organization.
