Karolina Pliskova (29) officially validated her ticket for the WTA Masters this Monday, which will take place exceptionally this year in Guadalajara (Mexico), from November 10 to 17. The Czech, world number 3, will compete in this event, where she reached the semi-finals three times for the fifth time in her career.

They are now four players to be sure to play in the WTA Masters, in Guadalaja (Mexico), next November. After world number 1 Ashleigh Barty, runner-up Aryna Sabalenka (2nd) and Barbora Krejcikova, world number 5 and winner of the last Roland-Garros, Karolina Pliskova (29) has in turn officially validated her ticket for these WTA Finals, which will take place exceptionally in Guadalajara this year (from November 10 to 17). Officially qualified since Monday, the Czech, now ranked third in the world, will compete in the Masters for the fifth time in her career after the first four participations, in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, of the one who has not missed the appointment for five years (the event was canceled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic). Eliminated from the start in 2016 for her debut in the competition, the former world number 1, however, reached the semi-finals in the three years that followed.

Still no title in 2021 for Pliskova but three finals …

Fourth in the standings at the start of the season this year, Pliskova, beaten in Rome in May (by Iga Swiatek) for her first final in 2021, then stumbled again on the last step in Montreal (defeat against Camila Giorgi) but above all at Wimbledon, where she underwent Barty’s Law for her second final in a Grand Slam tournament since the start of her career after that of 2016 at the US Open, this time it was Angelique Kerber who had played a nasty trick on the one who is still waiting for her first coronation in a Major. In contention for Indian Wells, the fourth player qualified to date for the Guadalajara Masters will not, however, play the Billie Jean King Fed Cup with her country. Still without a trophy in 2021, the twin sister of Kristyna Pliskova (130th world) will try in Mexico to win the Masters for the first time in her life., and maybe her first title of the season as well if she doesn’t win the Indian Wells WTA 1000 earlier.
