Paralympic sport, the star of Foggia Martina Sassani shines at the “Euro Trigames”. In Ferrara the great return to the pool after the Covid stop

There are just a few hours to the start of the “Suds Open Euro Trigames 2021”, an important sporting event for athletes with down syndrome, which will be held in Ferrara from 5 to 11 October. Continuing in the wake of the good work traced in recent years also the Paralympic movement of Foggia will be present with some athletes following the blue team that will take part in the various competition categories.

Many disciplines included within the event sponsored by SUDS, Fisdir, CIP, the Emilia Romagna Region, the Municipality of Ferrara and the University, and organized by the ASD Format Ferrara with the support of important partners such as Unicredit. Athletes from at least 18 different nations will compete in swimming, athletics, futsal, judo, synchronized swimming, basketball, tennis and table tennis competitions.

All the spotlights will be on the Foggia swimmer, Martina Sassani, the Fisdir athlete, member of Asd Elpis, who has already distinguished himself at the world championships, starting from 2012, winning three gold medals in synchronized swimming. The Italian national team focuses heavily on Martina and also her historic coach, Floriana De Vivo (Apulian FISDIR delegate), is happy to take part in this initiative. “Martina has been with the national team for many years and her story speaks for itself – says a the Immediate -, after the covid the important thing is to get back on the road because certainly, after a two-year stoppage, many aspects need to be reviewed “. The Foggia will be one of the approximately 350 athletes and over 150 companions who will be at the starting line on October 5th.
