If two Belgians – Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne – appear in the list of 30 nominated for the prestigious award, there is very little chance that one neither is at the very top of the list. The players most often cited are Karim Benzema, Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi or even Jorginho.
The latter, winner of the Champions League and the Euro, is under the spell of Kevin De Bruyne: “If I had to vote, it would be for him, for all of his work, for everything he has done and for the great football he has shown in recent years”, began the Italian at the microphone of ESPN Brazil. If the Belgian accuses the blow at the start of the season, he has undoubtedly left his mark on the last months: “For those who love football it is very nice to see him play because he understands football. He is a player with above average intelligence.”
