Onana: “I would sign for Liverpool or Real Madrid immediately”

Amadou Onana made the switch from HSV to Lille last summer. The captain of the Belgian U23 team looked back on his early period with the French national champion in an interview with RMC Sport.

When asked how his first impressions of Lille OSC were, Onana said he was very impressed with the training facilities. “I haven’t even seen the whole complex until today.”

The 20-year-old Belgian is not yet a basic player at Lille, but is getting more and more playing time. For example, Onana kicked off in the 2-0 win against Marseille. “I am satisfied with my performance so far,” Onana said.

He was asked whether ex-Lille Belgians Eden Hazard on Divock Origi set an example for him. “The connection between Lille and Belgians has always worked well,” said Onana, who also looks at the careers of Hazard and Origi. “Liverpool and Real MadridI would sign up for that right away.”

Onana resumes the competition with Lille on the field of PhD student Clermont Foot and will face Sevilla at home in the Champions League on Wednesday.
