If Mikal Bridges has extended to the Suns for $ 90 million over four years, Deandre Ayton has for his part failed to agree with the franchise, reports ESPN.
After seeing Luka Doncic, Trae Young, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Michael Porter Jr. get the maximum, a minimum of $ 172.5 million over five years, the pivot (2m11, 23) felt he deserved the same. Except that Robert Sarver, the boss of the franchise, is not of the same opinion and does not want to offer him so much.
The result is that the two camps therefore failed to come to an agreement. Phoenix however keeps the hand in the file because Deandre Ayton will be “protected free agent” next summer, and the club will thus be able to align itself on all the offers which will be made to him.
But for the finalists, it is perhaps a big stone in their shoe for this season, the pivot having never hidden his disappointment in this affair, and his desire to leave his role.
