NFL pools: crucial week for waivers

football/nfl/story">

With six teams on leave in the NFL, selecting players available on waivers has never been more important than in week seven of activity.

With that in mind, here are two players per offensive position to target in your league.

Tua Tagovailoa – Quarterback (available in 81% of Yahoo! leagues)

The Miami Dolphins pivot returned to the game last week after missing three games with a rib injury. He did very well, amassing 329 yards and two air touchdowns.

Tagovailoa should be able to do even better against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, as the team ranks fifth in points awarded to quarterbacks.

Carson Wentz – Quarterback (Available in 65% of Yahoo! leagues)

Without being extraordinary since the start of the season, Wentz is consistent in his performances. The Indianapolis Colts quarterback is expected to continue his momentum against the San Francisco 49ers this week.

He will then have clashes that can be very profitable against the Tennessee Titans, the New York Jets and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

D’Ernest Johnson – Running back (available in 95% of Yahoo! leagues)

The Cleveland Browns are on the brink of death, as Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt will not be in attendance for Thursday night’s game against the Denver Broncos.

Running backs D’Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton will be called upon to replace the dynamic duo. Of the two, he is the first who should get the most balls in races.

Rashaad Penny – Running back (available in 91% of Yahoo! leagues)

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Caroll has indicated that Penny’s name will be taken off the injured list and will play next Monday against the New Orleans Saints. The 25-year-old running back could be the starter, with Chris Carson and Alex Collins on the sidelines.

It is possible, however, that the second may be able to play, but it will not be 100%.

Robby Anderson – Pass Receiver (Available in 37% of Yahoo! Leagues)

Abandoned by a multitude of “poolers” since the start of the season, Anderson should bounce back in the coming weeks. The Carolina Panthers’ next two opponents are the New York Giants and the Falcons.

In addition, Anderson has been targeted 11 times in two of his last three games.

TY Hilton – Pass Receiver (Available in 61% of Yahoo! Leagues)

In his first game of the season last week, the Indianapolis Colts rep caught all four passes sent in his direction for gains of 80 yards.

While he will likely never be the dominant player he once was again, Hilton could benefit from the same background as Wentz to make points to those who trust him.

Ricky Seals-Jones – Tight End (Available in 70% of Yahoo! leagues)

The 26-year-old should be the priority of any “pooler” who needs a tight end. Seals-Jones made 100% of the Washington football team’s attacking games in their week six game.

He also appears to have become one of Taylor Heinicke’s favorite targets.

Mo Alie-Cox – Tight End (Available in 92% of Yahoo! leagues)

Alie-Cox has registered three majors in his last three outings. He hasn’t had a lot of volume since the start of the campaign, but he seems to be part of the Colts’ game plan when they’re in the pay zone.
