Throughout the long weekend the seventh edition of the “León Najnudel” basketball tournament, intended for the senior categories.
The contest, which is organized by Adolfo “Gurí” Perazzo and Ernesto Cukierman, pays tribute to the “father” of the National League and brings together the categories +40, +50 and +60 years, both men and women.
The matches will be played between this Friday and Sunday, in the clubs Quilmes (Luro 3868) and Unión (July 9, 3749) with the endorsement of the Marplatense Basketball Association. In addition, the finals of all categories, scheduled for Sunday, will be streamed.
Among the confirmed teams, the following stand out:
+40 male: Maxi Avellaneda, Molotov, Mardelplata and Unitarios.
+50 male: Youth of La Plata, Atlético Pilar, Lamadrid, Yeti Gutiérrez, Bahía Deker, Olimpia de Paraná, Mardelplata and Hebraica.
+40 female: Luz y Arte de Lanús, José Hernández, Calzada 1 de Rosario, La Plata Police Circle, Atlético Talleres (Buenos Aires) and Calzada 2 (Rosario).
+60 male: Círculo Policial (champion in the April edition of this year), Ferro Carril Oeste, Los Dorados, Curuzú Cuatiá, Unión Florida and Mardelplata.
The event pays a well-deserved tribute to a true Argentine basketball hero and is held twice a year. It began to be played in Buenos Aires, then they alternated with Mar del Plata, and now it has practically settled in this city. In fact, at the beginning of April it was held here, just as it will happen this long weekend. And the eighth edition is already scheduled for Easter 2022, again in Mar del Plata, which has the sports venues and the gastronomic and hotel infrastructure, in addition to its natural attractions to host such a significant tournament.
