TORONTO – Luka Doncic had 27 points and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Toronto Raptors 103-95 on Saturday.
Doncic got 16 points in the second half. He finished the game with 12 assists and 9 rebounds.
Tim Hardaway Jr. had 25 points, including a dunk that put the visitors’ cushion 88-78, with 5:53 left in the game.
Kristaps Porzingis provided 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Toronto led 16-2 and played well for a half and a bit longer: after 24 minutes it was 51-45 Raptors, then their lead became 58-50. Dallas subsequently began to take control.
OG Anunoby shone with 23 points, including five long distance shots, while Fred VanVleet added 20 points.
Rookie Scottie Barnes briefly retired to the locker room midway through the second quarter after a contusion to his left quadriceps. He still collected 17 points.
The Raptors began a four-game stint at home, where their performance is 0-2. They prevailed in Boston on Friday.
They will play again Monday night against the Bulls, who have among their newcomers a certain DeMar DeRozan.
The Bulls are undefeated in three games.
