From now on, the Association’s 30 general directors anticipate the final, in the traditional poll organized by the Olympic Tower in New York that asked 48 questions to the team’s decision makers. The main verdict: the 2021-22 title will go to the Brooklyn Nets.

72% indicate that Steve Nash’s team will win the Larry O’Brien trophy in June 2022. First with an abysmal gap on the second, the Los Angeles Lakers, chosen by 17% of the voters. Only 10% said the reigning Milwaukee Bucks champions were their favorite team. The gap in Brooklyn’s favor widens further when GM has to vote which team will win the East: 83% say the Nets, only 17% choose the Bucks (these are the only two teams to receive votes in the first box) . Next, the GM Eastern ranking includes Miami, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston and Indiana. In the west the Lakers dominate, chosen by 80% of the voters as the first team of the conference. Utah (13%) and Phoenix (7%) also receive votes for first place. Followed by Denver, Golden State, LA Clippers, Dallas and Portland. According to GM, the team that moved best is Miami (47%), awarded for the arrival of Kyle Lowry, of which 77% of voters think the purchase will have the greatest impact on their new team. The team set to improve the most over the course of the season is the Chicago Bulls, a preference of 27% of voters.

For the award as the best player of the regular season it will be a head-to-head between Kevin Durant (37%) and Luka Doncic (33%), with the Slovenian from Dallas chosen by 47% of the voters as the ideal player on which to build a franchise. The general managers have chosen Houston’s Jalen Green as the probable Rookie of the Year: she is more convincing (47%) than the first overall Cade Cunningham (40%). The general manager also voted the best quintet in the NBA role-by-role: LeBron James is second in the small forward and big forward roles, but remains out of the ideal line-up. Here are the GM’s preferences: Steph Curry (point guard, Warriors); James Harden (guard, nets); Kevin Durant (small forward, Nets); Giannis Antetokounmpo (great forward, Bucks); Nikola Jokic (center, Nuggets). The manager of this super team is Eric Spoelstra, designated as the best by 55% of the voters. The general manager also picked the best player outside the NBA: Nikola Mirotic of Barcelona.
