Morelenses will compete in the 2021 Sea and Beach Festival in Acapulco – El Sol de Cuernavaca

The sports delegation of the state of Morelos is already in the international port of Acapulco, Guerrero, and will compete this October 3-8, and will be in the specialties of badminton, open water, beach handball and beach volleyball 4-8. X-4.

The delegation traveled made up of 36 young people from Morelos who are looking to conquer the triumph in the Acapulco port in four different sports disciplines, an event organized by the National Commission of Culture and Sports (Conade).

Morelos will participate in the first edition of the Mar y Playa 2021 Sports Festival, a national fair that will be held in Acapulco, Guerrero, and where there will be state representatives of air badminton, open water, beach handball and 4×4 beach volleyball.

Germán Villa Castañeda, director of the Institute of Sport and Physical Culture of the State of Morelos (Indem), reported the above by specifying that 36 Morelos athletes traveled in search of the conquest of the Acapulco port, all actions will be within the category 13-14 years and will take place in the open sea and on beach sand.

In addition, Germán Villa pointed out that in the discipline of air badminton, the state crew is made up of Carlos de la Sierra, Ángel Curiel, Félix Aguilar, Julio Ortiz, Natalia Millán, Sofía Ruiz and Luna Mazón, commanded by Francisco ‘Che-ché ‘Alcántara and the teacher from Temixco, Antonio Carrera.

Regarding open water, Omar Balcázar and Joel ‘Pichón’ Rodríguez, will be in charge of advising Jimena Figueroa, Regina Cuevas and Alexis Sánchez, who will swim the 5-kilometer test.

Germán Villa added that in 4×4 beach volleyball, Morelos will be represented by the sports talent of elements from Cuernavaca, Jiutepec, Yautepec and Puente de Ixtla such as: Nelly Barrera, Naomi Barajas, Mateo Trejo, Milca García, Gael Tovar and Leonel Toledo; who will be led by instructor Alan Álvarez and Violeta Juárez.

At the end, the holder of the Indem mentioned that for beach handball there will be the participation of a women’s and a men’s squad, made up of: Azul Romero, Frida Castillo, Yamilet Ortiz, Liliana Negrete, Valeria Lara, Allison López, Alexia Hernández, Paola Zamora, Denise Pelayo and Fátima Peña.

The others are Gael Ocampo, Jesús Bahena, Jeshua Centeno, Joshua Neria, Juan Calderón, José Tapia, Yahel Amaro, Cristian Rosales, Daniel Cabrera and Alexander Díaz; The entire handball battalion is made up of male and female players from the southern zone such as Ticumán, Jojutla, Cuautla and Acatlipa.

It should be noted that the entire contingent from Morelos underwent their COVID-19 test to be able to travel, in addition to their arrival in Acapulco, a second test will be applied to rule out any possibility of contagion, in addition, they will have all the transportation facilities, uniforms, lodging and food, so that the young people only worry about providing a good competition before the other selective of the republic.
