Mesut Özil rages after being substituted – kicks water bottles away – football

But someone was not in a good mood!

Mesut Özil (33) raged in the Europa League match between Fenerbahce Istanbul and Royal Antwerp when he was substituted in the 66th minute when the score was 2: 2 (including the final result).

The attacking midfielder reluctantly left the field at Ulker Stadyumu. When he arrived on the sidelines, Özil kicked over several water bottles. He also took off his jersey and threw it on the ground.

Özil hadn’t played his best game before. He hadn’t succeeded in shooting on goal, and his passes didn’t always hit the target either.

A few weeks ago there were reports that Özil was dissatisfied at Fenerbahce due to lack of playing time and a falling out with coach Vitor Pereira (53). He played only one of his eleven competitive games so far (three goals, one assist) over the full 90 minutes.

Pereira stated that Özil had a good game. However, he also added that he did not know “what would have happened if I had not replaced him”. The Portuguese did not comment on Özil’s behavior after the substitution.

In early October, the ex-Arsenal star threw his shirt in the direction of the coach after he hadn’t substituted him in the league game against Kasimpasa.

No wonder that there are always rumors about Özil saying goodbye. Most recently he was associated with the nouveau riche club Newcastle United.
