Masters Andalusia (golf): Langasque takes the lead, Rahm out of the shot

The French Romain Langasque took the head of the Masters of Andalusia after the second round played Friday on the course of Valderrama, in Sotogrande, and his compatriot Julien Guerrier, leader Thursday evening, remained placed (6th). By returning a second consecutive card of 69, two strokes under par, Langasque, 282nd in the world rankings, thought he could finish the day as leader but he trembled until the end.

The Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick, 28th player in the world, cracked on the 18: double bogey, when he had just made five birdies. Leader Thursday night, Guerrier had to be content with a 73 and fell to 6th provisional rank, ahead of Rafael Cabrera-Bello, winner of the Spanish Open last Sunday and 2nd Thursday night but fell back to 13th place because of a 74 Friday card. It’s still better than world number 1 Jon Rahm, completely out of the way, who added to his 78 on Thursday a card of 74 on Friday, synonymous with a failed cut in 100th place. A rare poor performance for a player known for his consistency at the highest level.
