Lycée George-Sand in Yssingeaux: falling can be learned

Friday, the students of the 1st CGEH of the Lycée George-Sand in Yssingeaux ended their third day of risk prevention in equestrian environments with the Mutalité sociale agricole. Because the equine sector is particularly accident-prone.

This training, organized by the MSA, is aimed at risk prevention in the horse trades. The equine sector is, in fact, the second most accident-prone sector in agriculture. Throughout the three days, the student riders were made aware of the fact that taking care of oneself was essential for their well-being and their career.

Prevention of accidents at work

The first day was devoted to the prevention of accidents at work. Objectives: better identify the risks, know your limits, use the right equipment, prepare yourself physically and be well aware that an accident has serious consequences on the person but also on his business.

Food and lifestyle

The second session was health oriented. Christelle Pays, psycho-nutritionist, spoke about the athlete’s diet. Julie Ferroudje, occupational nurse, insisted on addictions and the importance of sleep. Indeed, “the rider an athlete who ignores himself” needs energy to draw from a suitable diet and a healthy lifestyle to be efficient.

Judo to manage the fall

The afternoons were dedicated to the management of the fall, indoors and then at the equestrian center, with Laura Majot from the Judo League. Learn to land well: higher and higher, further and further away, then on horseback … it’s sport!
