Loss to amateurs of Mandel United is defeat too much for Scifo | 1B Pro League

Enzo Scifo (55) is no longer trainer of Excel Mouscron. The last in 1B took only 2 points in 7 games this season. The defeat in an exhibition game against Mandel United (1st Amateur) last Tuesday cost Scifo his head.

Scifo started his second term at Mouscron with one clear assignment: to guide the club immediately back to 1A after the relegation from the Jupiler Pro League.

But there was little of that ambition on the field. After a dramatic start to the season with barely 2 out of 21, the Hainaut club is desolately last in 1B.

Today, Scifo was thanked by the club management for services rendered, after a defeat in an exhibition game.

“After long discussions after the defeat in a friendly against Mandel United, the Mouscron management came to the conclusion that they should let the coach go,” we read.

The ex-international is (for the time being) replaced by the duo of Philippe Saint-Jean and Olivier Croes.
