Latvian U19 footballers lose their qualifying qualifying qualifier to the EC

The Latvian U19 women’s soccer team in Porec on Tuesday lost in the first match of the 2022 European Championship qualifying round. The Latvians gave up 0: 3 (0: 2) to their peers from Kosovo.

Already in the second minute, Leunora Čemaja nominated the opponent, but in the 13th minute, Erona Bajram took 2-0. In the second half, in the 70th minute, Fortesa Berisha scored another goal for the Kosovars. The Latvian footballer hit the goal frame three times, but the opponents made twice as many shots.

In the continuation of the competition, the Latvian national team is expected to play a match against its host Croatia on October 22, but the final game is scheduled for October 25 against Liechtenstein. At the same time, the competition takes place both in the format of the UEFA League of Nations, with the strongest teams playing in League A, and those below in the B League, and as a qualification for the 2022 final. The Latvian national team competes in the fifth subgroup of the B league. The winner of the group and the best of the winners of the second position will qualify for the strongest or A league, from which there will be an opportunity to win a place in the final tournament. The second round of qualification will be held in the spring of 2022. For the U19 teams, the final tournament with eight teams will take place next summer in the Czech Republic.
