Judoka auriverde at the Junior Pan American Games –

The student of the Faculty of Urban and Regional Planning of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM), Katia Castillo Bustos, will compete in the Junior Pan American Games, which will be held from November 25 to December 4 in judo.

After having obtained her ticket for this competition in a classification by points, the student of the Degree in Environmental Sciences will start her trip to Colombia at the end of next month.

Under the supervision of coach Carlos García Montes de Oca, the university athlete prepared for several weeks at the facilities of the Sports Unit “Adolfo López Mateos” of the UAEM, prior to her concentration with the national team of the discipline, at the Center National Development of Sports Talent and High Performance (CNAR), in Mexico City.

He pointed out that it is a great pride to represent the country, the State of Mexico, as well as the UAEM. He assured that his goal is to conquer maximum glory in the -63 kg category.

Castillo Bustos, has demonstrated his experience in national and international competitions. Before going to the Junior Pan American Games, he participated in the 2020 Pan American Championship where he obtained second place.

The university student did not rule out going to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, so she stated that she will continue to strengthen her training sessions with a view to achieving this goal.

Sport with technique

Judo consists of projecting the opponent with the hands, hips or feet, as well as the use of levers to immobilize the opponent.
