Judo: Fabien Touchard, never far from the Dojo Bro Foën in Fouesnant – Fouesnant

Little Fabien started judo at the age of 5. But it was at the age of 7 that he walked on Kervihan’s tatami mats for the first time. He then follows in the footsteps of his father Francis, co-founder of Dojo Bro Foën. Twenty years later, the passion is intact and the Fouesnantais still take pleasure in putting on the club’s kimono.

However, it is within another team that he now makes his talent speak. In 2015, while he continued his studies near Vannes, he decided to sign for Judo Club 56, more likely to send him to the top. “Fabien is a real competitor. Our identity is more about leisure ”, says Axelle Colliou, president of Dojo Bro Foën, who speaks for her friend, less expansive. “In Vannes, he had the opportunity to compete in major team competitions. What we could not offer him ”.

Qualified for France from Perpignan

Over the seasons, the young Fouesnantais grows and rises in rank in the regional hierarchy. At 28, he is now familiar with the high level. He thus participated, with Judo Club 56, in the individual Brittany championships in the category of less than 73 kg in Ploërmel. He finished second in this competition and qualified for France from Perpignan. “I’m going with ambitions”. Small disappointment, he will not participate in the team competition. “We were beaten by Rennes in the final. It’s a shame, we were present in 2020 in France, disputed in Brest ”.

Fabien Touchard however keeps his feet anchored to the ground. He provides training for adults at Dojo Bro Foën on Friday evening at the Kervihan Sports Center, and for children on Saturday morning. According to its competitions. “We are lucky, he is one of the best Bretons,” said Axelle Colliou with satisfaction.
