Judo. Burgien Stéphane Duclos-Colas is veteran world champion

After obtaining a bronze medal in Cancún (Mexico) in 2018, then a silver medal in Marrakech (Morocco) in 2019, Stéphane Duclos-Colas, licensed at the Dojo Burgien, has just won gold at the world championship of judo in veteran.

It is this Friday, October 22 that the Burgien, often accustomed to the podiums, climbed on the highest step in the category of less than 66 kg, during this competition reserved for licensees aged 30 to 34, which took place in Lisbon (Portugal).

The Indian triumphs over a Kazakh, a Brazilian then a Spaniard in the final

In the first round, Stéphane Duclos-Colasa had to face the favorite of the competition, a Kazakh who took part in several international events such as the “Grand Slam of Moscow”. Better prepared physically, the Aindinois finally won the golden score after a hotly contested fight.

The resident of the Burgundy Dojo then flew over the competition by clearly dominating his semi-final against a Brazilian fighter, and by dispatching (in less than 20 seconds) the final which opposed him to a Spanish opponent.

Soon to be under 73 kilos

Stéphane Duclos-Colas, who will soon move to the M2 category (35 to 39 years old), will now try to conquer a new world title, this time in the under 73 kilos.
